North Dakota's impressive sweep of Minnesota secured the Sioux's hold on the top spot, while the challenge from Maine faded with the Black Bears' first two losses. More showdowns loom, as North Dakota welcomes unbeaten St. Cloud this weekend and our No. 2 and 3 teams meet Wednesday night.

3. Boston College 2 Best sign from Friday for the Eagles: Matti Kaltiainen was exceptional as they dealt Maine its first loss.

4. Michigan Note to OSU: stay out of the box. Six of the Wolverines' eight goals this weekend came on the power play.

5. Maine 3 Black Bears got beaten as soundly as the state's recent vote on casino gambling.

6. Colorado College Freshman Matt Zaba stopped 26 shots Saturday as Tigers salvaged split with Denver...
6-1-1 (3-1-0 WCHA). LAST WEEK: L vs. Denver, 5-2; W at Denver, 4-1. THIS WEEK: Off.
7. Denver ...because one night earlier, the Pioneers got three PPGs in a 5-2 win at Colorado Springs.
6-2-0 (2-2-0 WCHA). LAST WEEK: W at Colorado College, 5-2; L vs. Colorado College, 4-1. THIS WEEK: at Alaska Anchorage, at Alaska Anchorage.
8. Massachusetts 2 Critical Mass – next three for the Minutemen are BC, Providence and Maine.
