There were more splits in college hockey last week than you would find at an acrobat's convention, but instead of keeping things static, it shuffled the INCH Power Rankings considerably.

Here's how the Inside College Hockey editors and staff rank the nation's top teams (along with a note for each team).

One way to make papa proud: Tony Lucia's first collegiate goal was the Sunday game-winner as Golden Gophers swept Wisconsin en route to the top spot.

Did U2 have the Black Bears in mind when they wrote "Sunday Bloody Sunday?" Maine is 1-4 on the Sabbath in the last two years.

The Eagles haven't played their best hockey yet, and we still have them at No. 3. That's pretty scary.

4. Notre Dame

So we're a week behind in elevating the Irish. Their 4-1 dismantling of Michigan State Friday made a greater impression than did Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Spartans.

5. Michigan State

The Spartans head into a tough week (at Michigan, at Minnesota, at Wisconsin) without senior defenseman Ethan Graham, out 3-4 weeks with a knee injury suffered in Saturday's win.

6. Miami
Junior Ryan Jones set a school record with his 12th career game-winning goal on Saturday night.
10-4-0 (7-3-0 CCHA). LAST WEEK: W vs. Nebraska-Omaha 7-3; W vs. Nebraska-Omaha, 2-1. THIS WEEK: at St. Lawrence, at Clarkson.

Don't worry, Wolverine fans. You can avenge Saturday's loss when the hockey team travels to Columbus for a pair on Feb. 23-24.

Some big stats for a hot team. The Wildcats have scored 37 goals in their seven wins this season and are 5-0-1 in November.

Senior goalie Glenn Fisher got his second consecutive shutout on the night the Pioneers honored would-have-been senior Matt Carle for winning last year's Hobey.

The Terriers have scored exactly one goal in four of their last six games and are 1-2-3 in that stretch.

11. North Dakota

The Sioux gave up a total of 10 goals in losses at Alaska Anchorage, the most they've allowed in a two-game series since yielding 11 goals in consecutive defeats at Minnesota to open the 2002 WCHA playoffs.

12. Massachusetts

The Minutemen exorcised the ghosts of UConn's past with an eight-spot on Friday night.

13. Cornell
Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie ... and don't forget the cupcakes. Wayne State visits Lynah next weekend.

14. Colorado College

CC was unbeaten (3-0-1) in its first four games, then lost four in a row, and has since gone on a four-game winning streak. If this keeps up, Tiger fans may want to stay away from the rink for the next two weeks.

Brandon Wong is a name you should know. The freshman has 12 points in Quinnipiac's six ECACHL games.

17. Alaska

The Carlson Center played host to the Top of the World basketball tournament this weekend. The championship game pitted Utah State and Weber State, schools 45 minutes from each other playing on a court 2,800 miles from the Beehive State.

18. Dartmouth

Forward David Jones and defenseman Ben Lovejoy carry five-game point-scoring streaks into next weekend's games against Princeton and Quinnipiac.

Freshman orientation in the Granite City: Jase Weslosky earned his first career shutout and Andreas Nodl scored the game-winner as the Huskies handled Clarkson with ease.
