Michigan State, Michigan, Colorado College, and Minnesota were the only power-ranked teams last week that managed a sweep of their opponents this week. Three other teams appear in the INCH Power Rankings this week after getting weekend sweeps of their own.

Here's how the Inside College Hockey editors and staff rank the nation's top teams (along with a note for each team).

Senior forward Nathan Davis returned to the lineup for the series against Notre Dame, scoring a goal and adding an assist in the RedHawks' split with the Irish in Oxford.

2. Michigan State
Junior wing Tim Kennedy scored 3-3--6 in the Spartans' sweep of visiting Mercyhurst. The stakes get raised for MSU, as Miami, Minnesota, and Wisconsin invade Munn over the next two weeks.

3. New Hampshire
With 28 goals in seven games, New Hampshire ranks fourth nationally in scoring, averaging 4.00 goals per game.

4. Michigan

Senior forward Chad Kolarik scored three goals in the Wolverines' sweep of Alaska this past weekend, giving him at least one goal in four of his team's last five games.

Say it ain't so, Joe: According to Sunday's Wisconsin State Journal, defenseman Joe Finley allegedly slashed Bucky Badger as they passed on the runway to the Kohl Center dressing rooms Saturday.

6. Denver
The Pioneers are 6-2-2 against Minnesota State, this weekend's opponent, since that infamous game nearly four years ago in which the Mavericks rallied from a 7-1 deficit to beat DU 8-7 in Mankato.

7. Clarkson

Clarkson's win over Princeton on Saturday afternoon was highlighted by Steve Zalewski's four-goal performance. It was also the 200th win of George Roll's college coaching career.

Sophomore forward Bill Sweatt, the team's leading scorer with 10 points, has at least one point in seven of the Tigers' eight games this season.

9. Boston College

Eight of the 27 total games played in Hockey East this season have ended in ties, including three for Boston College. Every team in the league has at least one tie.

10. Wisconsin
Junior goaltender Shane Connelly made 43 saves—including 25 in the third period alone—in the Badgers' 4-0 whitewash of North Dakota Friday.

11. Notre Dame

Here's the problem: The Fighting Irish have scored a total of 28 goals in their seven wins, and a total of three goals in their four losses.

12. Minnesota

The Gophers totaled nine goals in two wins over Minnesota State last weekend, equalling the number they scored in the six games prior to their sweep of the Mavericks.

13. Minnesota Duluth
Sophomore winger Jordan Fulton, who shares the team lead in scoring, left in the first period of Saturday's loss at Colorado College with a slightly separated shoulder.

14. St. Cloud State

The Huskies have the weekend off. Looking at their upcoming schedule —series at Clarkson, at Wisconsin, vs. Denver, vs. Colorado College— you'd want a little down time, too.

15. Harvard

The Crimson enter the rankings at 15th, based on a 3-1-0 start with their only loss coming at Clarkson. Kyle Richter made 55 saves in back-to-back shutouts over the weekend.

16. Rensselaer
Saturday's seven-spot at Dartmouth was a nice way to rebound from Friday's loss at Harvard. Jake Morissette had a hat trick against the Big Green.

17. Michigan Tech

The Huskies were swept by SCSU, but the Tech pep band gained another fan. "They were playing (the theme from) 'Family Guy,'" SCSU goalie Jase Weslosky told the St. Cloud Times. "It made me chuckle a little."

Will Ortiz scored in both games over the weekend, and leads UMass with five goals on the season. He has yet to record an assist.

Derek Whitmore 3, Ferris State 1: Whitmore was good for all three tallies in the Falcons' 3-1 win Saturday, giving him eight on the season. He ranks tied for third among NCAA skaters in that category.
