If the INCH Power Rankings could be measured by a seismograph, last week’s certainly would’ve caused a spike in the reading with all the changes that took place. This week, however, can be considered an aftershock with just some minor rumbling here and there. Minnesota was the biggest mover this week, shooting up four spots to no. 16. And while we’re on the tectonic theme, don’t blame us if you think your favorite team is unfairly ranked—we just analyze the readings, so it’s not our fault (pun intended).

Here's how the Inside College Hockey editors and staff rank the nation's top teams (along with a note for each team).

No. Team

Matt Frattin scored his 25th, 26th, and 27th goals of the season in the Fighting Sioux's sweep of Bemidji State. In the last 10 seasons, the only NoDak players with more goals in a single season are Bryan Lundbohm (32 in 2000-01), Brandon Bochenski (35 in 2002-03), and Ryan Duncan (31 in 2006-07).

7. Merrimack
2
The initial drafts of this week's INCH Power Rankings had Merrimack dropping a little further after being swept at Maine. After we reviewed some of the data, we saw that Merrimack lost back-to-back games for the first time this season. In the 31st and 32nd games of the year. Whoa.

When the Badgers lose, they lose in bunches. Nine of their 13 defeats this season have come during different six-game winless streaks—the first was an 0-4-2 skid from Nov. 6-27, the second is their current 0-5-1 slide that started Feb. 11 and was extended when St. Cloud State swept Wisconsin at the National Hockey Center this past weekend.
19-13-4 (11-12-3 WCHA) LAST WEEK: L at St. Cloud State, 4-2; L at St. Cloud State, 7-3. THIS WEEK: vs. Colorado College, vs. Colorado College
18. Maine
NR
The Black Bears convincingly swept Merrimack, and might have also fired a psychological salvo, as Merrimack and Maine currently stand fourth and fifth in Hockey East. They would meet in the first round of the playoffs, barring a standings shake-up on the final week of the regular season.
16-10-6 (13-8-4 Hockey East) LAST WEEK: W vs. Merrimack, 4-0; W vs. Merrimack, 7-1. THIS WEEK: at Massachusetts, at Massachusetts

20. Dartmouth
NR
Dartmouth didn't do much this weekend to earn the 20th spot in the Power Rankings, but their overall body of work is impressive. To finish third in a very strong ECAC Hockey and also grab a non-league win over UNH is a testament to a fine regular season for the Big Green.
16-10-3 (12-8-2 ECAC Hockey) LAST WEEK: W vs. St. Lawrence, 4-2; L vs. Clarkson, 4-1. THIS WEEK: Off

Dropped out: Cornell, RIT, Robert Morris
