Inside College Hockey 2009-10 Preseason All-America Teams

Inside College Hockey is proud to announce its 2009-10 Preseason All-America teams. We prefer to see college hockey as a national game—thus our first-, second- and third-team All-Americans, plus our All-Rookie Team, are not divided on regional lines.

The selections were made by Inside College Hockey editors and staff, with input from media and coaches from around the country.

PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA FIRST TEAM

Jacques Lamoureux

Air Force
Junior
Forward

2008-09: 41 GP, 33-20—53

Lamoureux, a returning Hobey Baker finalist, made a name for himself last season as a sophomore with 33 goals and 53 points. The Falcons started the season with a 13-game winning streak and Lamoureux was a big part of it. He continued to rack up points and the Falcons went on to win the regular-season and playoff titles in Atlantic Hockey and upset Michigan in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

David McIntyre
Colgate
Senior
Forward

2008-09: 37 GP, 21-22—43

This returning Hobey Baker finalist ranked among the nation's leaders in key offensive categories and is one of the best players in the country. You won't see Colgate on television every week, but if the Raiders are coming to a rink near you, be sure to check out McIntyre before you've got to pay NHL ticket prices to do so.

Jordan Schroeder
Minnesota
Sophomore
Forward

2008-09: 44 GP, 13-32—45

He was the nation's leading freshman scorer last year and recorded at least one point in all but five games he played in for the Gophers. Schroeder ended the season with an eight-game point streak during which he tallied 11 points. He was expected to be a high pick in the NHL draft but slid to the later stages of the first round. Could that provide the motivation to avoid a sophomore slump?

Ian Cole
Notre Dame
Junior
Defenseman

2008-09: 38 GP, 6-20—26

Cole, a first team All-American last season, contemplated trading Notre Dame's blue and gold for similar colors— those of the St. Louis Blues, the team that took him in the first round of the 2007 NHL Draft. He's back with the Irish for at least one more season, terrorizing opponents with his offensive acumen and menacing 6-1, 220-pound frame.

Chay Genoway
North Dakota
Senior
Defenseman

2008-09: 42 GP, 3-29—32

Genoway is college hockey's version of Illinois quarterback Juice Williams—it seems like he's been at North Dakota forever. Fighting Sioux fans wouldn't mind a few extra years of his production. The reigning WCHA Defensive Player of the Year is also a dangerous threat on offense; he's scored 80 points in three seasons, including a career-high 32 points last season.

Zane Kalemba
Princeton
Senior
Goaltender

2008-09: 22-10-1, 1.82 GAA, .932 sv. pct.

Kalemba was the breakout star last year for Princeton as the Tigers made their second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament. He had 22 wins, a .932 save percentage and a 1.82 goals-against average and was a Hobey Baker top 10 finalist. Princeton's 2008-09 season will be remembered for the ones that got away but Kalemba leads a talented group of returners with a chance to erase those memories.

We select our Preseason All-Rookie Team with a slightly different approach than our Recruiting Rankings, which are based on talent and potential impact over four years. Here we measure potential impact just as freshmen.
