INCH All-Americans
Inside
College Hockey is proud to announce its 2004-05 All-America teams.
The selections were made by Inside College Hockey editors and
staff, with input from media and coaches from around the country.
INCH's All-America
teams are not affiliated in any way with those of the American
Hockey Coaches Association, which will release its East and West
All-Americans next week.
We prefer
to see college hockey as a national game – thus our first-,
second- and third-team All-Americans, plus our All-Rookie Team,
are not divided on regional lines.

2004-05 ALL-AMERICA FIRST TEAM |
David McKee
Cornell
Sophomore
Goaltender |
Statistics:
27-5-3, 1.24 GAA, .947 sv. pct., 10 SO
Good
as a freshman, McKee became great as a sophomore, and made
Cornell one of the toughest teams to beat in the country. |
Matt Carle
Denver
Sophomore
Defenseman |
Statistics:
41 GP, 12-28—40
How
is it that a blueliner who scores 12 goals and 40 points,
doesn't shy away from physical play and rates as his team's
best defender garners so little fanfare? Our guess is that
will change in the near future. |
Noah Welch
Harvard
Senior
Defenseman |
Statistics:
34 GP, 6-12—18
The
Crimson's unquestioned leader, he elevated his game as a
senior and may have been the best player in the ECACHL outside
of goalies. |
Patrick Eaves
Boston College
Junior
Forward |
Statistics:
36 GP, 19-29—48
One
opposing coach said that Eaves was the only player who truly
forced his team to adjust their game plan on his own. |
Marty Sertich
Colorado College
Junior
Forward |
Statistics:
42 GP, 27-37—64
Sertich
and Sterling are mentioned in the same breath so often,
they've become inseparable. But they're not indistinguishable
– Sertich is a well-rounded playmaker who's counted
on in nearly every key situation at either end of the ice. |
Brett Sterling
Colorado College
Junior
Forward |
Statistics:
42 GP, 34-29—63
Twice
in three years the INCH All-America first team has had two
players from one team, and both times it was Colorado College
(Tom Preissing and Peter Sejna in 2003). |
