In the latest edition of the INCH First
Shift, we broke down North Dakota senior forward Matt
Frattin's statistics into three categories. For this
week's edition of the Hobey Tracker, we present the
same data from some of his contemporaries. Points throughout
the season are measured against the top teams in your
league standings, the bottom teams in your league standings,
and non-league opponents. Non-conference games against
league foes (Beanpot, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game,
Union-RPI, etc.) are included in the conference games
section.
These findings, and this data is meant
to supplement discussion in the latest INCH Podcast.
Frattin's numbers are at the top, the
next sections compare other WCHA players and then other
Hobey Candidates from other leagues, presented in alphabetical
order. The WCHA comparisons measure the same splits
used for Frattin's analysis. The comparisons for Hockey
East, CCHA and ECAC Hockey players define the best competition
as only the other top-four teams in those respective
leagues, most of whom have been nationally-ranked at
some point during the year. Here are the numbers, and
a brief thought on what we see for each player.
