Collegians highlight U.S. Junior Evaluation Camp
College
players represent 39 of the 45 invitees to USA Hockey's 2006
National Junior Team Evaluation Camp, which takes place Aug.
5-14 in Lake Placid, N.Y.
The 39
college players represent 15 schools. Minnesota leads the
way with eight representatives at the camp. Boston College,
Michigan and North Dakota will each have four representatives
at the camp.
Participating
players in the camp are candidates for the 2007 U.S. National
Junior Team, which will compete in the 2007 International
Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship. The tournament
runs from Dec. 26, 2006-Jan. 5, 2007 in Mora and Leksand,
Sweden. U.S. National Team Development Program coach Ron Rolston
will be the team's head coach, with assistance from former
NHL defenseman Phil Housley and Union head coach Nate Leaman.
