Austrian trio leads collegians in World Championship
Two current
collegians – Wisconsin's Bernd Brückler and Minnesota's
Thomas Vanek – are joined by recent graduate Thomas Pöck
of Massachusetts on Austria's entry in the International Ice Hockey
Federation World Championship, highlighting an extensive list of
players with college ties in the tournament. Minnesota's Keith Ballard was added to the U.S. roster on Monday, the only other current player participating.
The World Championship,
which begins on Saturday in the Czech Republic, will help determine
the eight participants in the 2006 Winter Olympic Games. Below is
a complete list of current and former college players participating
in the tournament (additional names may be added Friday).
