ANTHONY CANZONERI
Bentley
Jr. | F | Homer Glen, Ill.

Canzoneri's 17 assists led a Bentley team that had only one senior – goaltender Ray Jean – in 2006-07.

Key Statistics: Canzoneri scored a goal in his first collegiate game, jump-starting an impressive freshman season: his 23 assists ranked second-best in school history for a rookie and his 31 points ranked fifth all-time for first-year Falcons. The scoring dropped off only slightly in his sophomore campaign (9-17-26). He produced two game-winners last season.

What He Does: Canzoneri has proven himself as a solid playmaker and a threat on the power play. Canzoneri prides himself with playing two-way hockey, something he learned throughout his youth career. Coach Ryan Soderquist will use him in just about every situation, especially at even-strength when a game is close.

The Bigger Picture: Canzoneri, 22, has challenged himself this summer to add elements to his game. If he’s successful, expect to see the centerman crash the net a bit more and think shot-first rather than pass. With most of Bentley’s forwards returning to the fold, perhaps Canzoneri will find a home with one unit and be more productive playing with the same faces every game.

Canzoneri on his decision to attend Bentley: “If I could do it all over again, I would do it again at Bentley. The atmosphere is great. It’s close to Boston and, being from Chicago, I like the big-city life.”
