JEFF PROUGH
Brown
Sr. | F | Farmington Hills, Mich.

Prough has been a consistent scorer for Brown, and will serve as an assistant captain this season.

Key Statistics: Prough is a consistent scorer who has posted steady production in each of his three prior years at Brown. After scoring 20 points as a freshman, Prough produced 30 as a sophomore and led Brown last year with 32 points as a junior. For his career he has 42 goals and 41 assists for 83 points.

What He Does: During a 10-minute conversation with Brown coach Roger Grillo, he used the word "consistent" at least a half-dozen times. The numbers bear that out, and last year he didn't go more than two games without recording at least one point.

The Bigger Picture: Players like Tyler Burton, Nick Johnson, Brandon Wong, and Nick Dodge get more notoriety around ECAC Hockey, but failing to include Prough among the league's elite group of forwards is a gross oversight. Prough is on pace to pass the 50-goal and 100-point plateaus early this season. The last Brown player to score 50 goals in his career was Damian Prescott, who finished his career 10 years ago following the 1997-98 season.

Brown head coach Roger Grillo on Prough's continued improvement: "He's a great kid and very coachable, and that's why he's continued to get better. He listens and learns and then puts in the effort, and that's why he has improved."
