Key Statistics: Henningson
had his best collegiate year in terms of point production
with three goals and 21 assists for 24 points. Only
Mike Moore of Princeton had as many points among ECAC
Hockey defensemen.
What He Does: Simply
stated, a little bit of everything. His offensive numbers
speak for themselves, as he makes good decisions and
contributes on the power play. He is also among the
best defenders in ECAC Hockey. Quinnipiac coach Rand
Pecknold called Henningson, "the best defensive
defenseman I've ever coached."
The Bigger Picture: After
serving as an alternate captain during his junior campaign
last year, Henningson was a clear-cut choice by his
teammates to wear the C for this upcoming season. The
Bobcats had some question marks on the blue line last
year when two-time All-American Reid Cashman graduated
but Henningson took on the responsibility of being Quinnipiac's
leader among the defense corps.
Quinnipiac head coach Rand Pecknold
on what he expects from Henningson this season:
"We just want him to keep doing what he did last
year. He was the best player on our team from start
to finish, and was the MVP on a team with pretty good
players."
