Inside College Hockey 's Go-To Guys – a look at who deserves individual honors in college hockey – returns for the 2005-06 season to find a wide-open field in the race for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award.

Inside College Hockey editors and staff, in consultation with coaches and media from around the country, compiled this list of how we would vote today – not necessarily how we think the races will turn out. And stay tuned, because a lot can change each weekend; we'll continue our looks at the Hobey and other honors, as the season progresses.

HOBEY BAKER AWARD – Feb. 7, 2006
1. Chris Collins
Boston College
The nation's leader in goals and shorthanded goals has been smoking hot as of late, with 7-9–16 in the Eagles' last seven games.
26 GP, 23-20—43
2. Matt Carle
Denver
Mainly a set-up man during his first two seasons, Carle ranks second on the Pioneers with 11 goals. In his last 10 games, he's got four goals and 13 assists.
28 GP, 11-29—40
3. Brian Elliott
Wisconsin
Sidelined by a knee injury, the Badgers have won just once in six games without him. In 22 starts, Elliott gave up more than two goals twice.
18-3-2, 1.40 GAA, .944 sv%
4. Brett Sterling
Colorado College
Two months ago, this 2005 Hobey Hat Trick finalist would've been at the top of the list. Three goals and four assists in eight games since Christmas, coupled with the Tigers' 3-5-0 record during that span, has slowed his momentum.
30 GP, 22-19—41
5. Scott Parse
Nebraska-Omaha
All he does is consistently score, as evidenced by his getting at least one point in 25 of the Mavs' 30 games. And, as evidenced by his 12 points in his last five games, he scores in bunches.
30 GP, 17-34—51
Poised to change on the fly Bobby Goepfert (St. Cloud State), Jamie Hunt (Mercyhurst), Ryan Potulny (Minnesota), Cory Schneider (Boston College), Marty Sertich (Colorado College)
On the radar Tyler Burton (Colgate), Nick Dodge (Clarkson), Joe Fallon (Vermont), Andy Greene (Miami), T.J. Hensick (Michigan), Matt Moulson (Cornell), Joe Pavelski (Wisconsin), Drew Stafford (North Dakota), T.J. Trevelyan (St. Lawrence)
