PAUL SZCZECHURA
Western Michigan

His Statistics: 2 GP, 1-6—7

His Impact: A week ago we joked that Western Michigan, 0-2-0 against the CHA, really wasn't ready to add a 'C' to the beginning of that league's name. Leave it to a guy named Szczechura to show us the folly of worrying about mere letters. He had a hand in seven of the Broncos' 10 goals – six coming on the power play and one more short-handed – to lead them to a stunning two-game sweep of preseason CCHA favorite Ohio State. Szczechura not only erased his team's slow start, but also his own. He had entered the weekend with one assist in those two earlier losses.

His Runners-Up: Scott Champagne (Mercyhurst), Chris Collins (Boston College), Kevin Du (Harvard), Brett Sterling (Colorado College)
