JOHN CURRY
Boston University

His Statistics: 2 GP, 56 saves, 3 GA

His Impact: The Terriers stood at a crossroads. BU had given up a total of 10 goals in back-to-back losses to Rensselaer and UMass Lowell. Vermont and Maine – both rated among the nation's top six teams – loomed on the horizon. Enter Curry, college hockey's Kurt Warner who burst out of nowhere last season to post an 18-11-3 record and a 1.97 GAA. He got a little help from his friends against the Catamounts – Curry faced just 21 shots in BU's 4-2 win. In the Terriers' triumph over the Black Bears in Orono, however, Curry was the difference. He made 37 saves, 19 of them in the third period as BU clung to a 2-1 lead.

His Runners-Up: Sean Bentivoglio (Niagara), Chris Myers (Quinnipiac), Jeffrey Rainville (Lake Superior State), Paul Stastny (Denver), Ryan Toomey (Mercyhurst)
