ALEC RICHARDS
Yale

His Statistics: 2 GP, 97 saves, 3 GA, 2-0-0

His Impact: Richards led a Yale squad that entered the ECACHL playoffs with a six-game losing streak to a surprising sweep of sixth-seed Union in Schenectady. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound freshman made 40 saves in the Bulldogs' 2-1 overtime win against the Dutchmen Friday, then stopped 57 of 59 shots in Saturday's five-OT epic – a 3-2 Yale win in the longest game in NCAA history – that lasted a little more than seven periods and ended more than six hours after the opening faceoff. Richards and the 11th-seed Elis advance to face top-seed Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H., this weekend in a best-of-three quarterfinal series.

His Runners-Up: Scott Champagne (Mercyhurst), Adam D'Alba (Brown), Brian Elliott (Wisconsin), Pete MacArthur (Boston University), Mitch O'Keefe (Ferris State), Rob Sirianni (Bemidji State),
