MARK VAN GUILDER
Notre Dame

His Statistics: 2 GP, 3-2—5

His Impact: Given the team's recent history of knocking Boston College from the nation's no. 1 ranking, maybe Notre Dame's 7-1 thrashing of the Eagles in Chestnut Hill Friday shouldn't be that big of a surprise. What has been somewhat of a shock is the Fighting Irish's offensive prowess, led by Van Guilder. The junior pivot scored a hat trick against BC, then added a pair of assists in Notre Dame's 6-1 drubbing of Providence Saturday. Van Guilder, who entered the season having scored 11 goals and 34 points in two seasons with the Irish, owns the team lead in goals (five) and points (eight).

His Runners-Up: Jordan Alford, Rensselaer; Jay Beagle, Alaska Anchorage; Nate Higgins, Wayne State; Michel Leveille, Maine; Tim Manthey, Army;
