His
Statistics: 2 GP, 2 wins, 81 saves, 2 GA as
Lake Superior State, the eighth seed in the CCHA playoffs,
swept third-seed Miami in a best-of-three, CCHA quarterfinal
series in Oxford this past weekend.
His
Impact: When a team scores an average of 2.56
goals per game and allows an average of 2.44 goals per
game, one can assume that said team's goaltender is
comfortable working with little margin for error. That's
what Jakaitis faces on a regular basis, and he's thrived
in that role as evidenced by the Lakers' sweep of Miami
In LSSU's 2-1 win Friday, Jakaitis stopped 27 of the
28 shots he faced through two periods, keeping the Lakers
close until they could get their offense untracked,
which they did in a two-goal third period. In Saturday's
game, another 2-1 LSSU victory, Jakaitis made 44 saves,
including 19 in the third period alone.
