His Impact: With an 8-2-2 record in
conference play, Bemidji State has established itself
as the team to beat in College Hockey America. The Beavers
extended their lead in the league standings to seven
points following last weekend's sweep of Alabama-Huntsville.
Climie blanked the Chargers in the series opener and
is tied for the NCAA lead in shutouts with four, which
is one shy of matching the school's single-season record
in that category. With 11 career shutouts and counting,
he already owns BSU's all-time mark.
Climie etched his name into the Beavers' record book
by backstopping the team to a 7-1 victory Saturday.
The win was the 40th of his career, surpassing Grady
Hunt for the most wins for a Bemidji State goalie during
the school's Division I era. At his current pace, Climie
will rank second in the BSU annals in both goals against
average and save percentage. He enters the Beavers'
weekend contests at Denver and Colorado College ranked
seventh nationally in goals against average (1.78) and
12th in save percentage (.927).
His Runners-Up: Chad Kolarik (Michigan),
