BEAU
ERICKSON
Connecticut
His Statistics: 2 GP, 1-0-1, 70 saves,
1 GA
His Impact: UConn was muddling along
through the first half of the season, but since returning
to Atlantic Hockey play in mid-January, the Huskies
have lost just once in six games against conference
foes.
The most recent test came against first-place RIT,
and goalie Beau Erickson answered the call against the
top team in Atlantic Hockey. He started the weekend
set in Storrs by making 40 saves in a 3-0 shutout win.
He followed that up with a 30-save performance in a
1-1 tie against the Tigers on Saturday.
The Huskies are now in a three-way tie for sixth place
in Atlantic Hockey, and just two points behind fifth-place
Mercyhurst for the final home-ice spot in the league
playoffs.
His Runners-Up: Jeff Lerg (Michigan
State), Matt Fornataro (New Hampshire), Alex Stalock
(Minnesota Duluth), Matt Thomey (Yale), Matt Pope (Bemidji
State)
