His Impact: Here's an indication of
how well Kassel has played during Army's current nine-game
unbeaten streak, which is the longest in Atlantic Hockey
history — only two goaltenders (Mark Dekanich
of Colgate and Bemidji State's Matt Climie) have more
shutouts this season than Kassel has in his last
five starts.
Shutouts nos. 3 and 4 came this past weekend as the
Black Knights took a pair of 4-0 decisions from American
International. Kassel enters this weekend's series at
Bentley with a shutout streak of 170:17, which tops
the previous personal best of 160:49. He posted the
old mark earlier this month, a stretch that included
consecutive whitewashes of Connecticut and Holy Cross.
Since the start of the nine-game unbeaten streak Jan.
19, Kassel is 8-0-1 with a 0.55 goals against average,
a .978 save percentage, and four shutouts.
