MATT
BECA
Clarkson
His Statistics: 2 GP, 2-4—6,
+5 rating, short-handed goal, one Cleary Cup.
His Impact: Beca's six point weekend
at Cheel helped the Clarkson Golden Knights clinch the
Cleary Cup, awarded to the regular season champion of
ECAC Hockey.
He started the weekend by scoring the game's first
goal against Princeton on Friday, and then assisted
on the next two as Clarkson pulled even at 3-3 before
eventually winning in the third period. That victory
clinched the league title, and the gravy came on Saturday
when Beca had a goal and two assists in an 8-0 rout
of Quinnipiac.
The sophomore also took over Clarkson's scoring lead
with 32 points on the season and the Knights seem to
be finding their scoring touch just in time for a postseason
run.
His Runners-Up: Justin Abdelkader,
Michigan State; Ryan Cramer, Bemidji State; Luke Flicek,
Army; J-P Lamoureux, North Dakota; Mike Potacco, UMass
Lowell
