His Impact: Thanks in large part to
the efforts of Thiessen — he's given up just seven
goals on 130 shots in four games thus far — the
Huskies are off to their best start since 1994-95, when
Dan McGillis and Co. opened with a 4-0-1 mark. Last
weekend, Thiessen made 35 saves as Northeastern cruised
to a 4-0 shutout at Providence. And though he allowed
a season-high three goals to Boston College at Matthews
Arena Saturday, the outing may have been Thiessen's
high-water mark this season. He turned aside 38 Eagle
shots, 16 of them coming in the final period, allowing
teammate Joe Vitale's shorthanded tally 14 minutes into
the frame to stand as the game winner.
His Runners-Up: Tyler Bozak (Denver),
