Stick Salute

Everything is better by the dozen: a box of eggs, comedy movies with big families, and starting the season without a loss, a la Air Force. After 12 games, the Falcons are soaring high as the nation’s only unbeaten, untied team.

Bench Minor
It was a bad week for starting netminders — or a great week for the reserves, depending upon your perspective. Of the 10 games on last weekend’s slate, starters were chased out of games five times.

Great Weekend Getaway
Sacred Heart vs. Holy Cross (Saturday in Milford, Sunday in Worcester)

The only Atlantic Hockey series of the weekend is an all-New England affair. In a pair of home-and-homes last season, each team held serve at home. Sacred Heart has dropped four of its last six, and has lost all six games away from home. Holy Cross has lost four of its last five, and has dropped all four games on the road. Matt Gingera and Eric Giosa lead the Pioneer attack. Keep an eye on Brodie Sheahan and Jordan Cyr for the Crusaders.
