His Impact: After opening the season with one win in its first nine games, Mercyhurst is on a roll with a seven-game unbeaten streak and six straight wins. The impressive run continued this past weekend as the Lakers blasted American International in a series sweep.

Pierce sparked the ‘Hurst offensive explosion against AIC, netting hat tricks in both games and adding a pair of assists in Satuday’s 11-1 romp. The Pakenham, Ontario, native scored one goal in each period Friday, and notched all three of his Saturday goals in the second period. Pierce, who ranks eighth in the country in goals per game, is in the midst of a three-game goal streak and a four-game point streak — he’s got seven goals and four assists over the last two weekends.
