Pos. Player, Team INCH’s Take
G John Muse
Boston College
Muse is back where he began. He started his career
with four NCAA Tournament wins and a title and repeated
that feat as a junior. He was sharp and consistently
in position.
D Brian Dumoulin
Boston College
Three assists in Thursday’s game probably got him
this honor, but it says something about BC’s defense,
which didn’t have one standout player but six guys who
were solid and shut down a dangerous Badger team.
D Brendan Smith
Wisconsin
His five-assist effort against RIT was historic, the
latest in a season of offensive highlights. While BC’s
speed gave the Wisconsin defense fits he didn’t appear
to be one of those victimized.
F Cam Atkinson
Boston College
Atkinson’s speed will haunt the dreams of Badger blueliners
and his backhand gave Scott Gudmandson fits. With two
goals he was likely the most dangerous player in the
final.
F Ben Smith
Boston College
Most Outstanding Player
Three goals on the week, including two beauties from
the slot on the power play. The anchor of what was the
Eagles’ most consistently dangerous line.
F Joe Whitney
Boston College
With six points in two games, he was a catalyst throughout,
but especially on the power play, where he set up three
of the Eagles’ four goals with the man advantage.
