Maine's Friday night loss to Providence cleared the way for a new No. 1 to emerge from the WCHA. But when both ends of the North Dakota-Colorado College series ended in a tie, that left us with no clear-cut leader. So mark your calendar for Jan. 31-Feb. 1, when the Sioux visit the Springs, and for now, we've got co-No. 1s.

Take a look at how the Inside College Hockey editors and staff think the contenders stack up – and let us know what you think.

1. North Dakota and 1

Zach Parise surely would have been good for at least a goal ... but the Tigers were on the road ... but the Sioux were without two defensemen ... but the Tigers were without two stars themselves.

If they couldn't decide it on the ice, how are we supposed to here?

  Colorado College 2
3. Maine 2 You'd suffer a letdown, too, if you had to go to Providence after spending a week in Florida.
4. Denver Welcome St. Cloud State after well-deserved week off.
5. Cornell Two wins against conference foes. And now they get their goalie back.
6. New Hampshire 1 After shutout at Denver, 'Cats respond with 13 goals in wins over Yale and Merrimack.
7. Michigan 2 Two freshmen, Jeff Tambellini and Brandon Kaleniecki, lead the Wolverines in goals.
8. Boston University 2 Win streak hits six, as Terriers have hit their stride ...
9. Boston College 3 ... while their rivals head in the other direction, with just one win in their last seven.
10. Minnesota 2 Gophers should've split with St. Cloud, but manage just one point after allowing a late goal Saturday.
11. Ohio State Maurice Clarett says he wants to play right wing.
12. Harvard Crimson welcome Yale, Princeton to Bright before their break for exams.
13. Ferris State Niagara suffered for the Bulldogs' loss to Alabama-Huntsville, to the tune of 7-1 and 8-1.
14. Massachusetts 2 Anybody else wish Thomas Pöck would change his last name to Puck?
15. Dartmouth Big Green keep on rollin'. They've won eight of their last nine after downing Vermont Saturday.
16. Miami 2 Like the Dolphins, RedHawks' swoon started around Thanksgiving ... 2-5-1 in their last eight games.
