The top three teams may stay the same, but like an iceberg, this week's INCH Power Rankings have a lot going on beneath the surface. Five teams dropped out of the top 20 this week and five more take their place, led by Northeastern at No. 15.

Here's how the Inside College Hockey editors and staff rank the nation's top teams (along with movement since last week and a note).

1. Boston College BC's big line of Eaves, Shannon and Bertram combined for 14 shots on goal against UMass, but no points.
4-1-1 (2-0-1 Hockey East). LAST WEEK: T vs. Massachusetts, 3-3 ot. THIS WEEK: at Harvard, at Providence.
2. Michigan Wolverines face Michigan State in a rivalry that's so heated, the two teams need a day between games to cool off.
7-2-1 (5-1-0 CCHA). LAST WEEK: Off. THIS WEEK: at Michigan State, vs. Michigan State.
3. Minnesota Gophers might want to leave a toothbrush in Colorado – after playing Denver this weekend, they head back in two weeks for a pair with Colorado College.
7-2-0 (5-1-0 WCHA). LAST WEEK: Off. THIS WEEK: at Denver, at Denver.
4. Wisconsin 2 Sweep of North Dakota will help keep Mad Town from becoming Sad Town after the Badger football team was stomped by MSU.
7-3-0 (5-3-0 WCHA). LAST WEEK: W vs. North Dakota, 1-0; W vs. North Dakota, 5-2. THIS WEEK: at Alaska Anchorage, at Alaska Anchorage.
5. Colorado College 1 Tigers hadn't allowed more than two goals in a game before their archrivals hung six on them Saturday night.
6-2-0 (2-2-0 WCHA). LAST WEEK: W vs. Denver, 3-1; L at Denver, 6-3. THIS WEEK: vs. Michigan Tech, vs. Michigan Tech.
6. New Hampshire 1 Battle of 'Cats and dogs this weekend as UNH meets suddenly surging Northeastern, owners of a five-game unbeaten streak.
5-2-1 (2-1-0 Hockey East). LAST WEEK: W vs. Providence, 3-2. THIS WEEK: at Merrimack, vs. Northeastern, at Northeastern.
7. Minnesota Duluth 2 A home series against a middle-of-the-pack ECACHL foe two weeks ago started the Bulldogs' slide. Maybe another this weekend stops it.
5-3-2 (4-2-0 WCHA). LAST WEEK: Off. THIS WEEK: vs. Brown, vs. Brown.
8. Cornell Who needs Gary Bettman? Sideshow Mel, Krusty the Clown's cohort on "The Simpsons", announced he's a Cornell alum in Sunday's season premiere.
4-1-1 (2-0-0 ECACHL). LAST WEEK: T at Michigan State, 1-1 ot; L at Michigan State, 2-0. THIS WEEK: at Vermont, at Dartmouth.
9. Ohio State 5 You wouldn't expect the team with the nation's most wins to be led in scoring by two rookies, but that's how it is in Columbus.
9-3-0 (7-1-0 CCHA). LAST WEEK: W vs. Northern Michigan, 2-0; W vs. Northern Michigan, 5-1. THIS WEEK: at Nebraska-Omaha, at Nebraska-Omaha.
10. Denver 1 Every team Denver has played is over .500, and they don't get a break from that streak until visiting Michigan Tech in December.
5-4-0 (4-2-0 WCHA). LAST WEEK: L at Colorado College, 3-1; W vs. Colorado College, 6-3. THIS WEEK: vs. Minnesota, vs. Minnesota.
11. North Dakota 6 Fighting Sioux are tied for 50th in scoring offense (2.25 gpg) and rank 52nd in power play success (11.4%). No, we didn't just make that up.
5-5-2 (3-4-1 WCHA). LAST WEEK: L at Wisconsin, 1-0; L at Wisconsin, 5-2. THIS WEEK: vs. St. Cloud State, vs. St. Cloud State.
12. Northern Michigan 2 Wildcats have scored a total of two goals in their three losses.
5-3-2 (3-2-1 CCHA). LAST WEEK: L at Ohio State, 2-0; L at Ohio State, 5-1. THIS WEEK: Off.
13. Maine Injuries continue to haunt Maine, as Ben Murphy went down, and even the refs at their games, as Tim Benedetto had to leave the Black Bears' game against UMass Lowell.
7-6-0 (3-3-0 Hockey East). LAST WEEK: L at Northeastern, 4-2; W at UMass Lowell, 5-4. THIS WEEK: vs. Massachusetts, vs. Providence.
14. Colgate 2 Raiders, losers of three straight non-conference games, are probably happy to get back to ECACHL action.
7-3-0 (2-0-0 ECACHL). LAST WEEK: L at UMass Lowell, 3-2. THIS WEEK: at Dartmouth, at Vermont.
15. Northeastern NR Northeastern, at 2-0-0, is Hockey East's last unbeaten and untied team. A year ago they were the last conference team to win a game.
5-3-1 (2-0-0 Hockey East). LAST WEEK: W vs. Maine, 4-2; W at Providence, 3-1. THIS WEEK: at New Hampshire, vs. New Hampshire.
16. Michigan State NR As Cornell's icers and Wisconsin's gridders can tell you, it wasn't a good weekend to be a red-and-while clad opponent in East Lansing.
5-4-1 (3-3-0 CCHA). LAST WEEK: T vs. Cornell, 1-1 ot; W vs. Cornell, 2-0. THIS WEEK: vs. Michigan, at Michigan.
17. Bowling Green 1 With five power play goals against UNO Saturday, Falcons spent more time on special teams than Steve Tasker.
5-2-1 (3-2-1 CCHA). LAST WEEK: L at Nebraska-Omaha, 4-2; W at Nebraska-Omaha, 6-4. THIS WEEK: at Wayne State, vs. Wayne State
18. Boston University NR Bryan Miller, excelling at both forward and defense for the Terriers, has been dubbed the team's Troy Brown by Jack Parker.
5-3-0 (4-1-0 Hockey East). LAST WEEK: W vs. Merrimack, 6-4; W at Merrimack, 3-1. THIS WEEK: at UMass Lowell, vs. UMass Lowell.
19. Vermont NR Catamounts have allowed only nine goals in their current six-game unbeaten streak.
5-4-2 (3-0-1 ECACHL). LAST WEEK: W at St. Lawrence, 4-3 ot; T at Clarkson, 1-1 ot. THIS WEEK: vs. Cornell, vs. Colgate.
20. Nebraska-Omaha NR Ahead of the curve: Mavericks didn't win sixth game last season until Jan. 8
6-4-0 (4-4-0 CCHA). LAST WEEK: W vs. Bowling Green, 4-2; L vs. Bowling Green, 6-4. THIS WEEK: vs. Ohio State, vs. Ohio State.
